Alabama Edge Rusher Declares for NFL Draft

As the sea of maize and blue stormed the field in Pasadena, California, the Alabama Crimson Tide walked off the field after suffering just their second loss ever in a CFP Semifinal game.

For some, it's the last time they'll put on the crimson and white. Players graduate, enter the transfer portal, or declare early for the NFL draft. That was the case for one Crimson Tide player late on Monday night.

The final stop by Michigan was only the beginning of the scrum that ensued. Alabama players had to wade through the Wolverines' team celebrating their victory to make their way to the visiting locker room. Once they got there, reporters began to talk to the players.

As first reported by Alex Scarborough of ESPN, Dallas Turner has reportedly declared for the NFL draft. In a quote to Scarborough Turner said, "I'm gone. Ain't no if, ands or buts about it."

The comment by Turner could potentially leave a sour taste in fans' mouths, but given the fact that Turner had just lost the Rose Bowl, a little grace with his frustration is warranted.

Turner had a good game with three tackles, one sack, and a tackle for loss. It wasn't enough, however, as the Crimson Tide fell to the Wolverines 27-20 in overtime.

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy was sacked just one time. Scarborough asked the star edge rusher about the lack of pressure on Michigan, "It might be some plays where I'm dropping or I'm spying or something like that," Turner said. "I don't always rush the quarterback. Why? I don't know. I just do what I'm told."

Dallas Turner finishes his career at Alabama with 120 total tackles, 22.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defended. Turner is expected to be a highly coveted first-round pick.
