Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun just received a lengthy suspension for his role in the Biogenesis performance-enhancing-drugs scandal, one that will cover the rest of the season. Is that fair?

Major League Baseball handed down the massive 65-game punishment on Monday, the first since we began hearing over the winter about the "wellness clinic" in Miami where numerous other players, including Alex Rodriguez, may have been receiving banned PEDs. This may well be the first in a series of suspensions.

Braun had been in a bit of PED-related trouble before, in 2011, when he allegedly failed a drug test but went unpunished due to a technicality. At the time, Braun loudly proclaimed his innocence. He also won the National League's MVP award that season.
